She loved to read books and inspired others to read and learn. Throughout her brief span of life she devoted herself to the process of learning and libraries were her friends and philosophers. Especially among the students of the schools she tried to persue that the library "is the intellectual nerve-centre of a good school, the hub of its academic life" inspiring students to read and cultivate in them a sincere love of books. She had keen sense of aestheticism.
Gardening was her favourite hobby. She was also an artist of Rabindra Sangeet. During her spare time she practised almost regularly the songs of Rabindranath. 'Plain living' as well as 'high thinking' was her style.

Their lone daughter, MADHURIMA CHAKRABORTY who was born on 05.11.1991 was her inseparable queer companion. When her daughter was a green girl, she led her to the realm of Rabindra Sangeet publically. However, Madhurima Chakraborty was an artist of ALL INDIA RADIO and DOORDARSHAN. Her philoprogenitiveness was rare and she dedicated herself to her daughter in her growth, development and upliftment in all levels of life.
She was a lady of principle. Everybody admired her towering and sagacious personality.
In December, 2016 she became a serious victim of haematic complications. Local treatment failed. It was not feasible to move her to the higher centre for the suitable treatment. Ultimately she breathed her last on 09.01.2017 leaving her husband and daughter in The Dark Room.
